Marcus Johnson

Operations Manager

Marcus Johnson has been a part of entertainment production for more than 20 years. At a very early age, his primary focus was on technical theater application, which included; sound, lights, and construction. As the years progressed, he was fortunate to work with a community theater Bakersfield Civic Light Opera, currently known as Bakersfield Music Theater.

Enrolled at Bakersfield College, Marcus was able to expand his interest into the theater program where he learned numerous other positions such as; fly man, stagehand, carpenter, and board operator. At age eighteen, Marcus found employment and maintains a working relationship with the Civic Auditorium; now called the Rabobank Convention Center. Due to his strong leadership skills Marcus assisted as a supervisor for two well recognized crowd management companies during which he worked events including U2, Rolling Stones and the Super Bowl. These companies provided him the experience of supervising events as small as one hundred to as large as eighty-nine thousand. Marcus has worked as a supervisor for the Dore Center as front of house manager, lead usher on the opening of United Artist Cinemas Theater, and front of house manager and Theater services manager at the Majestic Fox Theater for the Fox Theater Foundation, including booking, scheduling, and staff management.

Marcus has maintained a twenty-year relationship with the Great Kern County Fair ranging in positions from stagehand, stage crew manager, Production Manager and General Manager for the Budweiser Pavilion stage. Marcus currently serves as the Operations Manager of Starstruck Entertainment Services L.L.C. and of the subsidiary companies Standing Ovations Services and Squeaky Geeks.
